わあ、とても　あかるい ですね　= Wow, it's really bright

ええ、この　アパートは　たかい　ところ　に　ありますから

Yeah, because this apartment is in a high place

この　アパート = This apt (Grammar I)

あそこに　りっぱな たてもの　が　ありますね

[Same as L4:

このへんに　ぎんこうが　ありますか]

 

あれは　大学ですか　＝　

Is that [part of] the University？

大学の　たいいくかん　= the university gym

ええ、あれは　じょうとう大学の　たいいくかん　ですよ

Yes, it's Joto University's Gym

ええ、じゃあ、たいくかんの　となりの　ちゃいろい ビル　は　なん　ですか =

OK, then, Well, what is that brown building next to the Gym?　

となり = Location Word (Grammar II)

あれ　は　としょかんです =

That[thing over there] is the Library　

 

そして　そのまえ　の が　学生かいかん　です　

まえ　の　が = the one in front of that

(Use of の to substitute for Noun Grammar III)

And the ONE in front of it is the Gakusei kaikan.

 

ここ　から　大学　まで　どの　くらい　かかりますか　

(Grammar IV): From Point A to Point B....

From Here to the University = How long does it take?

A から　B　まで = works for Time too

どの　くらい = About how long

かかりますか = does it take?

 

バスで　２０っぷん　ぐらい　かかります

By bus, it takes about 20 minutes

でも、ぼくは　たいてい　じてんしゃで　いきますよ

But I usually go by Bicycle

 

そうですか。　じてんしゃで は　どのくらい　かかりますか

で は, に は、から は、で も、に も、から も

 

1５ふん　ぐらいです = about 15 minutes

はやい = い-Adj meaning fast; we also learned

 

ひろいーせまい Spacious, Cramped

あかるいーくらい Bright, Dark

 

And one new な-Adj + しずか (quiet)
